Terms of Membership

< Chapter 1 General Rules >

Article 1 (Purpose)
The membership agreement(hereinafter referred to as "the agreement") aims to define the rights and duties and responsibilities of the Acoustical Society of Korea(hereinafter referred to as the "Society") and user(hereinafter referred to as the "user") requirements in utilizing Internet-related services(hereinafter referred to as the "services") provided by the Acoustical Society of Korea.

Article 2 (Definitions)
1. Definitions of Terms used in this agreement are as follows.
① Members: Those who have entered into agreements with the Society for the use of services
② ID: A combination of letters and numbers selected by the member and approved by the Society for member identification and member service utilization
③ Password: A combination of letters and numbers selected by the member to protect his privacy.
④ E-MAIL: Mail through the internet
⑤ Termination (Withdrawal): with the request of withdrawal of user agreement once after the use of the service by the Society or its members.

Article 3 (Effect and Change of Terms)
1. This Agreement shall be effective upon posting on the service screen, by notifying the notice board or by other means.
2. he Society may change the terms of this agreement if it is deemed necessary, and the changed terms will be announced on the service screen. If you continue to use it without declaration, you are deemed to have accepted the changes to the Terms.
3. If the member disagrees with the changed terms, he/she can stop using his/her membership and can cancel his/her membership. If he/she continues to use the service, it is deemed to have agreed to the change of the terms.

Article 4 (Rules other than the Terms)
If the matters not specified in these Terms and Conditions are subject to regulations stipulated in the Telecommunications Basic Act, Telecommunications Business Act, and other related regulation.

< Chapter 2 Contract of user agreement >

Article 5 (Establishment of user agreement)
The user agreement is formed by accepting the contents of the member's terms and completing the basic entry for membership and storing it.

Article 6 (Application for Use)
Membership can be made online by submitting the information (name, resident registration number, contact information, etc.) requested by the society to the membership application form accurately and submitting it to the society.

Article 7 (Approval of application for use)
If the member makes an application by writing all the details of the application correctly, the application for service are accepted unless there are special circumstances.

Article 8 (Rejection of application and forced withdrawal)
The Society may refuse to apply for membership when applying for membership by stealing the name or information of another person. In addition, even when membership application is approved, if a posting is found to be disturbing the honor of Association or that might interfere with the original objectives of the Society, or showing the pornography or abusive contents, member can be expelled by the force.

Article 9 (Change of contract)
Members are responsible for making modification to the changes and the members are responsible for the problems caused by not modifying the information.

< Chapter 3 Obligations of the parties >

Article 10 (Duties of the Association)
The Society does not reveal or distribute personal information to third parties in connection with service members without their consent. However, it shall not be applied in case of requested by the national authorities by rule of law, such as Telecommunications Basic Act, or if requested by the procedures set forth in any other relevant laws or for criminal investigation purposes.

Article 11 (Obligations)
1. Members can not conduct any commercial use of the Service without the prior consent of the Association.
2. Members can not use the information obtained using the services without prior approval of the Association, duplicate, change, translate, publish, broadcast and other methods or provide it to others.
3. Members should not involved in the following behavior regarding use the service.
① for the purpose of criminal activity or other criminal activity associated with the act
② undermine the good morals, public order and other acts
③ behavior to undermine or insult other's honor
④ violate the rights of intellectual property of others, etc.
⑤ use of another member's user ID
⑥ act consistently linked to other sites or send to certain information, including advertising information against the will of another user
⑦ all the actions of possibility that any of the actions that give or interfere with the safe operation of services
⑧ Behaviors that interfere with the work of the Association by posting several repetitive articles.
⑨ Other violations of related laws
4. The member can not transfer or donate the right to use the service or other status of user contract to another person.

< Chapter 4 Use of service >

Article 12 (Suspension of Service)
In case of natural disasters or equivalent state of emergency cases that have occurred or possible to occur and if stopping a telecommunication service by the service provider due to the Telecommunications Business Act with other unavoidable reasons, it is possible to limit or stop all or part of the service.

Article 13 (Deletion of posts or contents)
If a post or the content does not meet regulatory and operational objectives of the Institute, or exceed the prescribed period, the post can be deleted without notice or consent.

Article 14 (Rights and obligations of the post)
All the copyright of the postings belongs to the Institute. However, the member is responsible for the post to which members posted.

Article 15 (Service provide date and hours)
1. Service hours are 24 hours a day, year-round, unless there is technical or operation difficulty of the institute.
2. There is an exception of the service hours mentioned in Paragraph 1, which is when the homepage is suspended due to the reorganization or system maintenance.

Article 16 (Provision of Information)
① Society members can be provided with information recognized that there is a need of using the service, in a manner such as e-mail or letter mail, phone, and the member can unsubscribe from receiving the information by modifying the personal information selecting unsubscribe in the application menu and account information modification menu.
② Society may request additional personal information with the consent of the members for the purpose of improving services and introduction to member services.

Article 17 (Termination and Limitation)
1. Members may withdraw by the membership withdrawal application in person when you want to terminate the use contract.
2. You can restrict re-enrollment for the terminated user.

< Chapter 5 Others >

Article 18 (Damages)
The Society shall not be liable for any damages incurred by members in connection with this Internet Service, except for damage caused by the Institute's intentional or serious negligence.

Article 19 (Exemption and Indemnification)
① The Society shall not be held responsible for the contents of information, data, facts and credibility posted by the member in the service, and the member shall use the service under his/her own responsibility, Or any other disadvantages arising out of the use of the Service.
② The Society shall not bear any responsibility for the merchandise transactions, etc., and shall not be liable for the benefits expected from the use of the service by the member or between the member and the third party in violation of Article 11.
③ Members are responsible for damages caused by carelessness in the management and use of their ID and password, or fraudulent use by a third party.
④ If the society is liable for the violation of a member or a third party due to the violation of Article 11 and other provisions of this agreement, and if this causes damages to the society, the member must indemnify the Society from any damages that may arise from such damages.
⑤ Member are exempted from liability for damages caused by unavoidable reasons such as natural disasters, war or replacement of service equipment, or regular inspections.

Article 20 (Prohibition of Transfer)
The member can not transfer or give the right to use the service or other status of use contract to another person and can not provide it as collateral.

Article 21 (Dispute Resolution)
① Association and its members shall make every effort to amicably settle a dispute related to the Service.
② Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 1, if a lawsuit is filed due to a dispute, the litigation shall be jurisdiction of a court of Seoul location of the Society.

Article 1 (Effective Date)
This agreement is effective as of Nov, 2016.

Privacy Policy

We are committed to protect the privacy of users who manage the Acoustical Society of Korea (hereinafter referred to as the Society), and are committed to protect the personal information provided to the Society on-line at the same time that the user uses the service. Accordingly, the Society complies with the personal information protection regulations of the relevant laws and regulations and the personal information protection guidelines established by the Ministry of Information and Communication, which must be observed by providers of information and communication services, such as the Telecommunications Privacy Act, Telecommunications Business Act, and the Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization Act.

Consent to Collect Personal Information

The society has established procedure of user agreement to privacy policy or terms and conditions of society, with a click "I agree" button to confirm agreement to the collection of personal information.

The society's privacy policy includes the following contents.

Personal information is information about an individual who is alive and includes information (even if the information alone can not identify a specific individual, it can be identified and combined with other information) that can identify the individual by name, phone number, e-mail address, etc.
The institute service consists of menus that can be used at any time without any user registration and menus that can not be used. However, the Society collects personal information of users in order to provide better and higher quality services to users through services and supplementary services. Items of personal information and gathering method of society

Society collects the necessary information to provide the online services when you register to use the services. Information that is necessary for the registration is name, email, and contacts. We may collect additional information that users can optionally input to provide higher service quality.
In addition, you may be requested selectively to input personal information for statistical analysis or offering prizes in the events of the society. However, we do not collect sensitive personal information (such as race and ethnicity, ideology, creed, place of birth, family register, political orientation and criminal record, health and sex status, etc.) Users will be required to obtain prior consent. Retention and use period of personal information collected by the society

While you are using the services provided by the Society as a member of the Society, the Society keeps your personal information continuously and uses it to provide services. However, if the member himself or herself deletes or modifies the information or requests to cancel the membership, all information except the name and ID will be deleted completely from the server by a method that can not be recovered, and it will be processed in a state that can not be viewed or accessed later. In principle, your personal information shall be destroyed when the purpose of collecting personal information or the purposes for which it has been accomplished. However, in the following case, we keep the member information. If it is necessary to preserve the information in accordance with relevant laws such as the Commercial Act, Consumer Protection Act, etc., the Society will keep the member information for a certain period set by the relevant laws and regulations. In this case, the Society uses the archived information only for the purpose of archiving.
- Records of contract or withdrawal: 5 years
- Records of the supply of goods and payments: 5 years
- Records of the handling of consumer complaints or disputes: 3 years

Sharing and providing personal information collected by the Society

The Society uses the personal information of the users within the scope of the purpose of collecting and using the personal information, and does not disclose the personal information of the user outside the scope of use without prior consent of the user or in principle. However, there are except of the following cases.
First, if users agree to the disclosure in advance
Second, if you violate Terms of Service or other member service terms of the Society
Third, if there is sufficient grounds to believe that personal information should be disclosed in order to take legal action against the person caused mental or physical damage to others

And the society can share users' personal information for the development of new technology or better service. In this case, before collecting information or providing information, there will be procedures to make agreement with users with information of entity to share personal information, which information is needed, how long it is protected and managed. Gender, age, and other specific conditions, the user's personal information will not be provided to the individual or company requesting the advertisement, and even if necessary for statistical processing, academic research, market research, information is provided only in an unidentifiable form.

The user can inquire or modify his/her personal information registered at any time using the homepage of the society and may request to cancel the registration.
In order to view and modify the users' personal information, you can log in using the ID and password. You can edit all the entries except the ID and name. If you have forgotten your password, please click "Find ID / Password" at the bottom of the member login menu. Once your identity is confirmed, we will send your ID and password to the e-mail address provided at the time of sign-up.

Membership withdrawal will be processed when you input the information on the items according to the instructions on the user account modification page.

Users will be able to unsubscribe or use the member ID of the institute service, but this will not disable all services and will not be available for some member-only services. The Society treats personal information that has been revoked or deleted at the user's request to be processed as described in the period of holding and use of the personal information collected by the Society, and is prohibited from being viewed or accessed for any other purpose.

Details on operation of the session

To provide customized services tailored to users, the institute uses session information that is stored and retrieved from time to time. A session is a small amount of information that is stored on the server used to run the website. The Society maintains membership status using sessions to provide users with more useful services.

Technical and administrative measures related to personal information

In handling the personal information of users, the Society takes the following technical measures to ensure the safety of personal information to prevent loss, theft, leakage, alteration or damage. Personal information of users is protected by password. The identity of the Society Member ID is known only to you, and you can check and change your personal information only by the person who knows the password. Therefore, you should not tell anyone your password. To do this, we recommend that you log out online and close your web browser after you finish using it on PC. Especially if you share your PC with others or use it in public places (such as academic societies, schools, libraries, internet game rooms), you will need to do the same to prevent your personal information from being known to others.

The Society is doing its best to prevent personal information from being leaked or damaged by hacking or computer viruses. In order to prevent personal information from being damaged, we are backing up the data from time to time. We use the latest vaccine program to prevent personal information or data from being leaked or damaged. We can securely transmit personal information on the network through encryption algorithm.

Consignment processing of personal data

In order to improve the service, the society can entrust the users' personal information to an external professional company for processing. In the case of entrusting the processing of personal information, we will notify the users in advance. In addition, through the trust agreement, we will strictly stipulate the instructions of the service provider regarding personal information protection, confidentiality of personal information, prohibition of third party provision and burden of responsibility in case of accident, and keep the written agreement in writing or electronically.
